Brooklands/Rochdale U16 v Heaton Mersey U16

Brooklands/Rochdale U16 hosted Heaton Mersey in a hard fought cup pool game at George’s Road. Lacrosse is sometimes a game of fine margins and so it proved in this game. Falling behind 1-3 in the first quarter, Brookdale fought back but never nudged ahead trailing 4-6, 6-9 and 8-11 at halftime, 3/4 time and full time respectively. Oscar dominated again at the faceoff helping Brookdale get in 23 shots but that was offset by ten minutes of collective penalties and Heaton Mersey’s marginally better and more accurate 28 shots which gave them the edge over the 60 minutes. A brace of goals to each of Troy and James and singletons from Alex, Marc , Oscar and Jack M. A big welcome to Jack B and welcome back to Connor and Sam R who contributed to a competitive team performance that shows the potential of the team.
